Forever Our Rivers Terms of Use

Forever Our Rivers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring rivers and streams across the Southwest. These Terms of Use explain how Forever Our Rivers may use photos, videos and other content that you provide to us.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF USE CAREFULLY. BY SUBMITTING CONTENT TO FOREVER OUR RIVERS OR USING THE HASHTAG #YESFORRIVERS IN RESPONSE TO A REQUEST FROM FOREVER OUR RIVERS, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS.


1. Your Content

"Content" means any photographs, videos, graphics, written materials or other materials that you submit or provide to Forever Our Rivers for use in connection with our mission, programs, communications or marketing.

By submitting Content to Forever Our Rivers or responding to our request with #YESFORRIVERS, you confirm that:

  • You are the creator of the Content or otherwise have the right to provide it to Forever Our Rivers.
  • You have obtained any necessary permission or releases from people who appear in the Content.
  • Your Content does not knowingly violate another person's copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights.
  • You have the authority to grant Forever Our Rivers the rights described in these Terms.


No Compensation: You understand and agree that you will not receive payment or other compensation for Forever Our Rivers' use of your Content. By submitting your Content or using #YESFORRIVERS, you voluntarily grant Forever Our Rivers permission to use your Content without expectation of payment.


2. Permission to Use Your Content

You grant Forever Our Rivers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, publish and share your Content for purposes related to our mission, including conservation education, storytelling, marketing, fundraising, public relations and raising awareness about healthy rivers.


This may include use on:

  • Forever Our Rivers' website
  • Social media channels
  • Email newsletters
  • Digital and print publications
  • Fundraising and marketing materials
  • Presentations and educational materials
  • Other communications used to promote our mission and conservation work


Forever Our Rivers may crop, resize, format or make minor edits to your Content as reasonably necessary for these purposes, provided such changes do not materially alter the original Content.


3. Credit

Forever Our Rivers will make reasonable efforts to credit you when we use your Content. Credit may include your name, social media username or other identifying information you provide to us.

However, you understand that we may not always be able to provide credit, particularly when Content is used in formats or materials where individual attribution is not practical.


4. Your Name and Likeness

You give Forever Our Rivers permission to use your name, social media username and likeness in connection with the use of your Content, including when identifying or crediting you as the creator.


5. Content Featuring Other People

If your Content includes identifiable people other than yourself, you confirm that you have obtained any permissions or releases necessary for Forever Our Rivers to use that Content as described in these Terms.


6. Ending Permission

You may contact Forever Our Rivers to request that we stop using your Content in future materials. We will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests, but we cannot guarantee removal of Content that has already been published, distributed, printed or shared by third parties.


7. Acceptance of These Terms

By submitting Content through a Forever Our Rivers submission form, replying to a Forever Our Rivers request with an affirmative response, or using #YESFORRIVERS in response to a request from Forever Our Rivers, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Use.
